Who we are...

Charlie Miller founded Port City Builders after spending years working with his father, Sammy Miller, a mason from the Seagate area of Wilmington, NC.  In 1967, Port City Builders was incorporated. 

Charlie’s son, Chuck, also began working in the construction business in the late 60's.  He is a 4th generation builder, who started by doing masonry with his grandfather as a youngster. Chuck spent many years working in the field, and served as President of the local and state Home Builders Association, as well as serving on the Commercial Builders Council within those associations. Chuck is now President of the business his father started so many years ago, and today, Port City Builders, Inc. remains in its original location of the Seagate area in Wilmington. 

At the end of 2005, Chuck's wife Gail also became involved in the business and became the CFO for the company, handling all financial matters.  In 2008, Gail was appointed to the position of CEO and continues to oversee the day to day administration and financial matters for the company.  

Port City Builders is prequalified as a Purchase Order Contractor with the DOT and is HUB certified as a Hispanic American/Woman Owned Business.  Over the years, Port City Builders, Inc. has adhered to their motto of “Quality Construction and Service” and is proud of the clean and safe work environment that they provide.
